This imprimatur edition was widely used by American Catholics at the turn of the 20th century, and remains easily accessible to this day. This work, of course, follows the old Universal Roman Liturgical Calendar, so it contains many saints that were replaced on the new Universal Roman Liturgical Calendar in 1960. But many remained on the new calendar as well. We have included a section that lists all the saints in Butler’s work from the old calendar that are included in the new Roman calendar and their new calendar date (if any).
